One of the most eminent institutions, BRACU started its journey in 2001. Sir Fazle Hasan Abed holds the position of head of the board of trustees. BRACU is an initiative of BRAC NGO. Among all the private universities, it has the most diverse and highest number of courses offered. Different schools, centers, and institutes govern its large scale of programs. At present, BRACU offers 16 undergraduate programs, 19 postgraduate programs, and 8 PG diploma and certificate programs. It has hired highly qualified faculty members with overseas degrees, publications, researches, and recognition. Right now, it has nearly 7000 students with a number of foreign students from numerous countries. The university offers students the opportunity to participate in different student activities, workshops, trainings, seminars, conferences, festivals, and travel. It has its permanent campus TARC situated at Savar, Dhaka.
